KHL moves games away from ‘unstable’ Ukraine

PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Security concerns prompted the Kontinental Hockey League to move home playoff matches of Ukraine’s Donbass Donetsk against Lev Prague to the Slovak capital of Bratislava.

The KHL says in a statement on Tuesday that the situation in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk is “unstable,” and the home team agrees.

It says the third and fourth matches of the series scheduled for Sunday and Monday, and if necessary another game on March 28, will take place in Slovan Bratislava’s arena.

Lev Prague spokesman Jan Rachota says they didn’t ask for the move.
