Cup hits the pool at Mario’s house

It would seem that swimming with the Stanley Cup is tradition for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Eighteen years after the Cup found its way into Mario Lemieux’s pool after the franchise’s first championship in 1991, the treasured trophy made its wet return this past week in the wake of the Penguins’ championship victory over Detroit this past Friday.

Pictures posted on Deadspin.com feature the Cup being used as a pool toy during a celebration with players and their families at Lemieux’s Pittsburgh mansion. The photos also show Lemieux’s famed wine cellar.
