NHL Arbitration Tracker: Results of 23 cases

NHL player agent Don Meehan joins Prime Time Sports to comment on the contract negotiations between P.K. Subban and the Montreal Canadiens.

Twenty players from the National Hockey League chose to take their respective teams to salary arbitration.

Six of those players — Ottawa’s Derek Grant, Calgary’s Joe Colborne, Montreal’s P.K. Subban and Lars Eller, and Toronto’s James Reimer and Cody Franson — hail from Canadian clubs. The Stanley Cup finalist New York Rangers led all teams with three players filing.

Three clubs elected to take players to salary arbitration as well. The St. Louis Blues decided to take KHL-bound forward Vladimir Sobotka to arbitration. The Colorado Avalanche filed for arbitration with forward Ryan O’Reilly back in mid-June, as did the Winnipeg Jets with winger Michael Frolik.

The deadline for offer sheets to restricted free agents came and passed on July 5 with no offers.
