Oilers sign forward Patrick Russell to a one-year contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Patrick Russell to a one-year contract, the team announced on Friday.

The six-foot, 205-pound forward appeared in 68 games, posting 27 points (14G, 13A), 48 penalty minutes and a minus-1 rating this past season for the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.

The native of Bickerod, Denmark represented his country at the 2018 World Hockey Championship last month, making his second appearance with Denmark (2017, 2018). Russell also represented his country at the U-18 World Hockey Championship and at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Russell joined the Oilers organization in 2016-17, signing as an undrafted free agent after two years at St. Cloud State.
