Penguins place forward Conor Sheary on injured reserve

The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Conor Sheary on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Sheary was injured in Tuesday’s win over the San Jose Sharks, and Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan says he is considered week-to-week. The 25-year-old has 12 goals and 19 assists in 52 games this season.

Pittsburgh has also recalled forward Zach Aston-Reese from the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Aston-Reese has registered nine goals and 20 assists and a plus-21 rating in 41 AHL games in 2017-18.
