Radim Vrbata set to retire after 16 NHL seasons

Florida Panthers forward Radim Vrbata is ready to call it a career.

He made his retirement official following Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Vrbata, 36, played for seven different teams over the course of his 16-season career, the majority of which was spent with the Arizona Coyotes. He also spent time in Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, Vancouver, and Tampa Bay.

In 1,057 career NHL games, Vrbata registered 284 goals and 339 assists for 623 points.

The Panthers were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday, thanks to the Philadelphia Flyers’ victory against the Rangers. Florida’s final game is Sunday night against Boston.
