Report: Campbell wants to be moved by Panthers

Unlike most people towards the end of their career, Brian Campbell wants to leave Florida.

The 35-year-old defenceman is hoping to be moved by the Florida Panthers, according to a report by Andy Strickland:

While Campbell has yet to comment on the report, Panthers GM Dale Tallon told a local reporter that the defenceman has not requested a trade.

Campbell has spent the past three seasons with the Panthers, registering 19 goals and 98 assists while averaging close to 27 minutes per game. In 2013-14, the Ontario native posted seven goals, 30 assists and a minus-6 rating.

It could be difficult for the Panthers to find a taker for Campbell as the veteran blueliner carries a salary cap hit of $7.14 million over the next two seasons. Campbell also has a no-trade clause in his contract.

He was originally acquired by the Panthers in a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Rostislav Olesz in June of 2011.
