The Montreal Canadiens placed Rene Bourque on waivers Sunday.
Elliotte Friedman on Twitter: “As reported by @renlavoietva, MON put Rene Bourque on waivers today.”
If Bourque is not claimed by Monday at noon, he will be sent to the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate Hamilton Bulldogs.
Despite an impressive playoffs last season, Bourque has been restricted to just one goal in his last 32 regular season games. He has just two assists so far this season.
