With the 2017 NHL Draft now in the rear view, the debate on who will be the cream of the crop in next year’s draft has begun. So far, a 17-year-old defenceman is among the leaders of that race.
Rasmus Dahlin has been making headlines as an early favourite to be next year’s first-overall draft pick. The native of Trollhättan, Sweden is known as a two-way defenceman with great skating and puck handling skills.
He showed off those skills in a recent shootout competition.
Dahlin played for Sweden at the 2017 world junior championship as a 16-year-old and will be a key player to watch in next year’s tournament. He will play for Swedish professional team Frölunda HC next season.
