Details: Burnes joins a Baltimore rotation that was good enough to win a division title last season, but remained more of a question mark than some other areas on the roster.

Mariners acquire veteran infielder Jorge Polanco from Twins

Twins receive: RHP Anthony DeSclafani, RHP Justin Topa, OF Gabriel Gonzalez, RHP Darren Bowen and cash
Details: Polanco fills a void in the middle of the infield the Mariners had after earlier moves. He can also play third base and will provide a competitive at-bat in the middle of the lineup. DeSclafani and Topa are two MLB arms who will contribute to the Twins in 2024.

Details: Duarte went 3-0 with a 3.69 ERA in 31 appearances spanning five major league stints last season. He was originally signed by the Rangers out of Mexico in 2013.

Dodgers receive: LHP Jackson Ferris, CF Zyhir Hope
Details: The Cubs may have found their opening-day third baseman in the power-hitting Busch, who was the Pacific Coast League player of the year last season with triple-A Oklahoma City.

Cardinals add bullpen help
Cardinals receive: RHP Andrew Kittredge
Rays receive: OF Richie Palacios
Details: The Cardinals acquire a former All-Star in Kittredge to boost their relief corps. The 33-year-old has thrown just 31.2 innings combined over the last two seasons, but owns a career 3.65 ERA with 206 strikeouts in 214.2 innings.
Mariners make a pair of moves
Mariners receive: OF Mitch Haniger, RHP Anthony Desclafani
Giants receive: LHP Robbie Ray
Details: After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023, Seattle sends 2021 AL Cy Young winner Ray to the Giants, re-acquiring Haniger, who was an All-Star with the Mariners in 2018.
Mariners receive: OF Luke Raley
Giants receive: INF Jose Caballero
Details: Seattle continued adding to its outfield, bringing in Raley, who hit .249 with 19 home runs for the Rays in 2023 in exchange for Caballero, a solid middle infield defender.

Brewers acquire Bryan Hudson from Dodgers

Dodgers receive: LHP Justin Chambers
Details: Hudson was designated for assignment last week with the team welcoming in new starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Hudson spent six games with the Dodgers last season, posting an ERA of 7.27 in 8.2 innings of work.

Red Sox receive: IF Vaughn Grissom, plus cash considerations
Details: Sale, 34, a seven-time all-star, waived his no-trade clause in order to join Atlanta, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Yankees receive: RHP Cody Morris
Details: The Yankees offloaded one of their many outfielders through this deal and recouped a right-handed pitcher, a position they were light in. They traded four right-handers in order to acquire outfielder Juan Soto from the Padres.

Details: The Mets add a proven starter in Houser and a well-rounded skillset in the outfield in Hoser and Taylor.

Giants acquire TJ Hopkins from Reds

Reds receive: Player to be named later or cash.
Details: Hopkins made his major-league debut with the Reds on June 3, drawing a ninth-inning, bases-loaded walk from Milwaukee’s Devin Williams in his first plate appearance. He hit .171 (7 for 41) with one RBI in 25 games.

Orioles add pitching depth in trade with Royals

Royals receive: RHP Cesar Espinal
Details: Heasley made 21 starts for the Royals in 2022 but only 12 appearances out of the bullpen in 2023. Espinal, 18, has spent two seasons pitching with the Dominican Summer League Orioles after signing in 2021.
Mets added Yohan Ramirez to bullpen in deal with White Sox

White Sox receive: Cash considerations
Details: Ramirez, 28 has 102 games of major league experience over the past four seasons and had 4.23 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 31 relief apperances with the Pirates and White Sox in 2023.

Details: The Pirates add journeyman Billy McKinney to the outfield without having to subtract from the roster.

Rays agree to trade Tyler Glasnow, Manuel Margot to Dodgers

Rays receive: RHP Ryan Pepiot and OF Jonny Deluca
Details: The Dodgers continue their big off-season by adding Glasnow and Margot. The deal is reportedly contingent on Glasnow signing an extension with the Dodgers which he is expected to do.
Brewers add Tyler Clarke to bullpen in trade with Royals
Brewers receive: RHP Taylor Clarke
Royals receive: RHP Ryan Brady and INF Cam DeVanney
Details: The Brewers added another young arm to the bullpen in Clarke, who has 105 games of experience over the past two seasons. In exchange, the Royals receive two prospects.

Details: The Dodgers opened up two spots on their 40-man roster to add Shohei Ohtani and Joe Kelly by trading for left-hander Victor Gonzalez and infielder Jorbit Vivas to the Yankees for shortstop prospect Trey Sweeney.

Details: Cleveland claimed Bethancourt, 32, off waivers on Nov. 6. He batted .225 with 16 doubles, 11 home runs, and 33 RBIs in 104 games with Tampa Bay during the 2023 season.

Red Sox acquire Canadain Tyler O’Neill from Cardinals

Cardinals receive: RHP Nick Robertson, RHP Victor Santos
Details: Red Sox grab the Canadian slugger O’Neill, a native of Burnaby, B.C., who was a six-year veteran with the Cardinals and has won two Gold Glove awards. The 28-year-old finished eighth in National League MVP voting in 2021.

Padres receive: Right-handed pitchers Michael King, Drew Thorpe, Randy Vasquez, Jhony Brito and catcher Kyle Higashioka
Details: The Yankees made the biggest splash of the winter (so far) by landing Soto, one of the most talented hitters in the majors. The 25-year-old — who will become a free agent after the 2024 season — slashed .275/.410/.519 with a career-high 35 homers and 109 RBIs in 2023.
