Nurmagomedov vs. Healy set for UFC 165

A bout between lightweight contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Pat Healy has been added to UFC 165 in Toronto.

Nurmagomedov (20-0) is coming off a dominant decision win over Abel Trujillo at UFC 160 in May. The win improved his UFC record to 4-0 since debuting in the promotion in 2012; he also has wins over Gleison Tibau, Thiago Tavares, and Kamal Shalorus.

The 24-year-old Russian recently called out Canadian TJ Grant and expressed an interest in fighting him on the Sept. 21 card, however Grant is recovering from a concussion that forced him to pull out of a UFC 164 title shot against Benson Henderson.

Instead, Nurmagomedov faces former Strikeforce contender Healy, who has lost only once in his last 11 fights.

Healy (29-16) submitted Jim Miller at UFC 159 in April and won Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night bonuses that would have earned him $130,000 on top of his $22,500 salary. However, Healy tested positive for marijuana on his post-fight drug test, which resulted in the bonuses being rescinded and his win changed to a no contest.

A light-heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson is scheduled to headline the event and an interim bantamweight title bout between Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland will serve as the co-main event.
