Durant expected to make Suns debut Wednesday vs. Hornets

Kevin Durant is expected to make his Phoenix Suns debut on Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets.

Durant has been out since Jan. 8 with an MCL sprain and was acquired by the Suns in a blockbuster move ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Phoenix sent Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round draft picks, and a 2028 pick swap to the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant requested a trade in the off-season and preferred to land in Phoenix. Durant rescinded the trade request when a deal didn’t materialize and played 39 games for the Nets before suffering the MCL injury.

The 34-year-old is averaging 29.7 points per game on 55.9 per cent shooting and 37.6 per cent from beyond the arc.

The Suns are fourth in the Western Conference and are in the middle of a road swing.
