Kings acquiring Tristan Thompson in three-team deal with Celtics, Hawks

After initial reports surfaced about a Tristan Thompson move from Boston to Atlanta, it appears the Toronto native is in fact moving on to Sacramento via a three-team deal between the Celtics, Hawks and Kings, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Acquired by Atlanta from Boston in exchange for Kris Dunn, Bruno Fernando and a 2023 second-round pick, Thompson was then flipped to Sacramento for Delon Wright.

Thompson averaged 7.6 points and 8.1 rebounds for the Celtics in 2020-21, his first season in Boston after a lengthy tenure in Cleveland.

Dunn was limited to four games in 2020-21 due to injury issues, joining the team last season after previous stints in Chicago and Minnesota. Fernando spent the past two seasons with Atlanta.
