Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry won’t be in the lineup against the Toronto Raptors for personal reasons.
Fred VanVleet, who’s dealing with a knee injury, has been upgraded to probable for Toronto. The Raptors point guard has missed the last two games with soreness in his right knee.
The 35-year-old Lowry did not play the first game against the Raptors earlier this month because of personal reasons has missed Miami’s last seven games. Jimmy Butler, who was previously listed as probable due to a left big toe irritation, will be in the Heat lineup while Markieff Morris, KZ Okpala, Victor Oladipo, and Chris Silva all remain out.
The next scheduled return date for Lowry to play against the Raptors comes Feb. 1 in Toronto. If he misses that game, the Raptors host the Heat again on April 3.
VanVleet is in the midst of an All-Star calibre campaign, averaging 21.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals this season. The 27-year-old leads the Raptors in points and assists per game.
