New Orleans Pelicans‘ forward Zion Williamson may be out a little longer as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports new soreness in the 2019 first overall pick’s injured right foot.
Pelicans’ Zion Williamson experienced a slight delay in his rehab due to soreness in his injured right foot. Team is optimistic it is not serious but will dial back his ramp up in approximately a week.

It was previously reported that the Duke product was making strides toward recovery and participated in a four-on-four full-court practice.
But with the new soreness, the Pelicans are using caution and delaying his rehab by about a week.
The 21-year-old fractured his foot over the summer and has not played an NBA game since May. Last season the Duke product averaged 27 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
New Orleans could use the reinforcements as the Pelicans sit 14th in the West with a record of 6-18 and get set to take on the Dallas Mavericks Thursday.
