Report: Chargers RB Austin Ekeler seeking trade with no progress in contract talks

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is requesting permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The Chargers and Ekeler reportedly had conversations about a contract extension but the talks did not progress toward a deal.

Ekeler combined for 18 touchdowns and 1,637 combined yards during the 2022 season, his sixth with the Chargers.

The 27-year-old is in the final season of a four-year, $24.5 million contract he signed back in 2020 and will be a free agent.
