New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that running back Saquon Barkley is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a report from New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard.
Barkley was listed on the injury report and was limited at practice on Thursday. According to Leonard, he reportedly is set to be limited at practice again on Friday.
The star running back has 1,055 rushing yards as well as 241 yards through the air on 40 receptions so far this season.
The Giants are set to take on the NFC leader Philadelphia Eagles, a major division rival in a game that could have playoff consequences for New York especially. They’re currently sitting at 7-4-1, and after starting the season off 6-1, are 1-3-1 in their last five games.
Though they remain in the second wild-card spot in the NFC, the Commanders are on their tail, sitting only a game back, after the two teams tied last week
The Eagles meanwhile are on a three-game winning streak, sit two games above the Cowboys for the lead in the NFC East, and demolished the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans 35-10 last week.
If Barkley does miss the game, the Giants will turn to backup Matt Breida. He currently has 112 yards on the ground this season along with 83 through the air.
