Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews will miss Thursday’s game against the Calgary Flames because of a non-COVID illness, the team announced.
The 34-year-old Winnipeg native has 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points in 45 games this season.
Toews has been the subject of trade talk with his long-term deal with the rebuilding Blackhawks set to expire after this season.
Toews had 370 goals and 509 assists for 879 points in 1,059 career games, all with the Blackhawks, who selected him third overall in the 2006 NHL Draft.
