Injury woes continue for Avalanche with Nichushkin, Byram and Girard sidelined

The injury bug continues to hit the Colorado Avalanche as Valeri Nichushkin had ankle surgery and is out for a month. Bowen Byram is week-to-week with a lower body injury and Samuel Girard is day-to-day.

These are three key players for the Avalanche who lose two of their better defencemen along with a power forward in Nichushkin who has 12 points in seven games so far this year.

The reigning Stanley Cup champions are already without the services of captain Gabriel Landeskog, centre Darren Helm and recently just got back defencemen Devon Toews.
