Maple Leafs’ Marner still not skating, Samsonov to start vs. Flyers

Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner remained off the ice Wednesday after suffering a lower-body injury last Thursday against the Boston Bruins, coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters.

Keefe previously said Marner was unlikely to play Thursday in Philadelphia against the Flyers. He missed the team’s last game on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens.

The team has not given a timetable for Marner’s return.

Meanwhile, Keefe said Ilya Samsonov will start in goal against the Flyers.

It marks his second start in a row after he was in net for a 3-2 win in Montreal.
