New York Rangers’ Jacob Trouba facing supplemental discipline for elbow

The Rangers’ Jacob Trouba has been called for a hearing on Saturday by the NHL’s NHL Department of Player Safety, creating the possibility of supplemental discipline.

Trouba will be questioned about an elbow he gave to Vegas Golden Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev on Friday that went unpenalized.

“The incident occurred at 18:08 of the second period of the Golden Knights’ 5-2 win at Madison Square Garden in New York,” the NHL said in a statement. “Following a face-off in the Rangers’ left defensive circle, Trouba hit Dorofeyev in the head with his left elbow after the two were jockeying for position.”

Dorofeyev left the game and did not return.
