Oilers coach Woodcroft: Draisaitl an ‘available player’ against Kraken

The Edmonton Oilers appear to be getting a crucial part of their offence back in the lineup Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken.

Head coach Jay Woodcroft told reporters at the morning skate that Leon Draisaitl is “an available player” but did not confirm whether he would play or not.

Draisaitl has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury. Woodcroft said Draisaitl was dealing with “bumps and bruises” last week.

In 36 games this season, the 27-year-old Draisaitl has 21 goals and 57 points, which is good for second in league scoring behind teammate Connor McDavid.

After practice Monday, Draisaitl said that his injury ended up healing quicker than he thought and he would see how he felt before the game to see if he would make his return.
