Predators’ McCarron fined $2K for goalie interference on Canucks’ DeSmith

Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron has been fined $2,000 by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for his goaltender interference on Vancouver Canucks goalie Casey DeSmith in Friday’s Game 3.

In the first period, McCarron hit DeSmith as the netminder was tending the puck behind his goal. A scrum between the two teams ensued afterwards and McCarron was assessed a minor penalty.

DeSmith was excellent in Vancouver’s win, stopping 29 of the 30 shots he faced.

The Predators now face a 2-1 series deficit with Game 4 going Sunday in Nashville.
