Predators sign forward Denis Gurianov to one-year, $850K deal

The Nashville Predators announced the signing of forward Denis Gurianov to a one-year, $850,000 contract on Tuesday.

As Gurianov did not receive a qualifying offer from the Montreal Canadiens, he became an unrestricted free agent.

In 66 games with Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens, Gurianov scored seven goals and 17 points last season. Throughout his six-season NHL career, he has played 280 games, scoring a total of 51 goals and 111 points.

The 26-year-old Russian was drafted in the first round by the Stars (12th overall) in 2015. Before that, he competed in the Kontinental Hockey League for Russia’s Lada Togliatti.

Earlier in July, the Predators retained Alexandre Carrier and extended Cody Glass’ contract. They also signed Luke Schenn and Ryan O’Reilly.
