Roslovic to make Blue Jackets debut vs. Panthers on Thursday

While he won’t have the privilege of playing in front of friends and family, Jack Roslovic is set to make his hometown debut in a Columbus Blue Jackets uniform against the Florida Panthers on Thursday.

Coach John Tortorella made the announcement to reporters Wednesday, just four days after the Columbus native was acquired as part of a blockbuster swap of disgruntled stars Patrik Laine and Pierre-Luc Dubois with the Winnipeg Jets.

The 23-year-old pivot practised alongside Boone Jenner and Cam Atkinson on the team’s third line Wednesday.

As part of the headline-grabbing deal, Roslovic, who had remained unsigned into the season as a Jets RFA, agreed to a two-year, $3.8-million contract.

The 25th-overall pick in 2015, Roslovic scored 12 goals and 29 points in 71 games for the Jets last season, his best as a pro.
