Senators’ Talbot replaces ill Sogaard in loss to Maple Leafs

Ottawa Senators goaltender Cam Talbot replaced Mads Sogaard to start the third period against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday because the latter goaltender was not feeling well, according to the team.

The Senators said Sogaard will not travel to Columbus with the team for a game on Sunday.

Sogaard allowed three goals on 16 shots. The Senators trailed 3-0 after two and lost by the same score.

The Senators have been hit hard by injuries to goaltenders all season. Ottawa has used six goaltenders this season because of all the injuries.

The Senators entered play five points back of a playoff spot.

Sogaard entered the game with a 7-5-2 record to go along with a 3.18 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.
