Three-time Stanley Cup Champion Jonathan Quick is bringing his veteran leadership to Broadway after agreeing to a one-year, $825,000 deal.
The netminder had spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Kings before this year’s NHL trade deadline, when he was sent to the Columbus Blue Jackets, then flipped to the Vegas Golden Knights. In Vegas, Quick saw a minor resurgence after struggling, posting a .901 save percentage in 10 regular season games for the Golden Knights.
Born in Milford, Conn., the 37-year-old is expected to provide Rangers star netminder Igor Shesterkin some veteran assurance while joining the team he followed as a kid.
Quick’s Hall of Fame resume speaks for itself, including a dominant run to the Conn Smythe trophy in 2012, as well as 375 career wins, which rank second amongst all American netminders.
