Canada’s women’s 3×3 basketball team wins Olympic qualifier tune-up

The highly regarded Canadian women’s 3×3 basketball team is in excellent form ahead of its Olympic qualifier.

Canada beat the United States 20-18 on Wednesday in the final of its season-opening 3×3 Women’s Series Springfield tournament in Massachusetts.

Twin sisters Katherine and Michelle Plouffe, Paige Crozon and Kacie Bosch went 5-0 at the tournament.

Canada is gearing up for its Olympic qualifying tournament, May 3-5 in Japan. The winner of the eight-team event gets a spot in the Paris Olympics.

Katherine Plouffe is the top-ranked player in the world, while Michelle is No. 3.

Canada won stops in the 3×3 Women’s Series last year.
