Concacaf issues warning about homophobic chants during Canada-Mexico game

Concacaf issued a warning about homophobic chants from the crowd at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton during halftime of the Canada-Mexico World Cup Qualifying game on Tuesday.

Per the Sportsnet broadcast, CONCACAF and officials have issued a warning about homophobic language from the crowd.

Broadcast suggested it's from traveling Mexico fans, who have been sanctioned prior.

Mexico has previously been sanctioned for homophobic chants from their fans.

FIFA has ruled Mexico’s next two home games will be played without fans due to the chants at home qualifiers against Canada and Honduras.
