Senators’ Tim Stuetzle headlines Germany’s final roster for world juniors

Tim Stuetzle, the third-overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, will lead an upstart German contingent at the upcoming 2021 world juniors.

To no surprise, Germany announced Sunday that the Ottawa Senators top prospect will lead its 25-man roster representing the country at the tournament in Edmonton.

Senators fans will be keen to see how Stuetzle performs on the big stage after breaking his hand and undergoing surgery in October.

Also highlighting the roster is John-Jason Peterka — a second-round pick by the Buffalo Sabres in October — while the team was forced to travel without Chicago Blackhawks first-rounder (17th overall in 2020) Lukas Reichel as well as Nino Kinder, Tobias Ancicka and Elias Lindner due to COVID-19

Germany’s full roster can be found here.

The team embarked on a flight to Edmonton on Sunday and will be quarantined until Dec. 17, before being allowed to return to the ice for training the following day.

Germany opens its tournament on Christmas Day against Finland.
