The National Bank Open's men's night session on Saturday in Montreal briefly resumed before being interrupted by rain.
A quarterfinal match between defending champion Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev began at 8 p.m. ET, one hour later than originally planned, due to rain. However, after Rublev took the first set 6-4, rain returned and both players exited the court.
Matteo Arnaldi and Kei Nishikori are scheduled to compete in a quarterfinal match following the Sinner-Rublev battle.
A Round of 16 match between Arthur Rinderknech and Hubert Hurkacz was suspended before the start of the third set but later resumed.
Only two of the quarterfinal matches will be played on Saturday with the other two taking place on Sunday morning as the tournament tries to make up for lost time after Friday's matches were cancelled outright due to rain.
