Ottawa Senators announce 2017-18 training camp roster

The Ottawa Senators have released the list of names set to suit up at the club’s training camp, beginning Thursday.

Thirty-three forwards, 18 defencemen and six netminders will attend, including three players on professional tryout deals and two on amateur tryouts. Nineteen of the Senators’ rookie camp attendees will get a shot at impressing the club’s brass during the big-league training camp as well.

The club will be missing two notable members of their squad when training camp begins, however, as captain Erik Karlsson and star forward Derick Brassard both remain sidelined with injury.

Karlsson’s timeline remains up in the air after having surgery to repair tendons in his left foot. The veteran defender said he’s unsure when he’ll be able to begin skating again. Brassard is still recovering from the shoulder surgery he underwent shortly after the club’s 2017 playoff run.
