The Toronto Blue Jays had a star representative on July's MLB team of the month.
Dylan Cease was included in the honour as the starting pitcher after logging a 1.00 ERA with 46 strikeouts and 11 walks over five starts.
That included a no-hit bid that was broken up in the ninth inning against the San Francisco Giants on July 8, and a complete-game one-hitter against the Boston Red Sox on July 25.
It was Cease's first complete game in a Blue Jays uniform and his first since 2024. He allowed only one hit and three walks, held Boston hitless until the sixth inning, struck out 12 and was the only pitcher in July to throw a shutout.
The 30-year-old right-hander was also announced as the American League pitcher of the month on Monday, too, adding to his Cy Young case.
Cease is second in odds for the award, after Yankees righty Cam Schlittler.
Schlittler leads the American League in ERA and innings pitched while Cease has more strikeouts. The pair are tied with 4.5 wins above replacement, according to Baseball Reference.
Cease has a 2.41 ERA, 174 strikeouts and 51 walks over 119.1 innings this year. He also leads the AL in FIP (2.30) and strikeout minus walk rate (25.6 per cent).
Other notable inclusions on the team were Washington Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams, who led MLB with 10 homers in July, Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez, who led with a 1.180 OPS, and Boston Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman, who paced all relievers with 10 saves.
