Canadians Leylah Fernandez and Rebecca Marino earned spots in the main draw of the Abu Dhabi Open with wins in the second round of qualifying on Monday.
Fernandez, from Laval, Que., beat Ukraine's Katarina Zavatska 6-1, 6-4, while Vancouver's Marino topped Belgium's Ysaline Bonaventure by the same score.
Fernandez will face American Shelby Rogers in the first round of the WTA Tour 500 event, while Marino draws China's Zheng Qinwen on Tuesday.
Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga, Ont., is also in the tournament and is scheduled to face Yulia Putinseva of Kazakhstan in the first round Tuesday.
Andreescu retired from her semifinal against Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine at the Thailand Open on Saturday with what appeared to be a right shoulder injury.
