White Sox receive: RHP José Urquidy
Pirates receive: RHP Felix Doroteo
Quick notes: After being designated for assignment on July 24, Urquidy heads to the Southside, where he'll be asked to join a young White Sox team in their post-season push. Urquidy only threw 6.1 innings for the Pirates this year, allowing six earned runs and striking out six.

Red Sox receive: INF Curtis Mead
Quick notes: The Red Sox and Nationals swap a pair of young, controllable players. The 24-year-old starter, Early, heads to D.C. and Mead, who's in the midst of a breakout 17-home-run, .852-OPS season, goes back the other way to Beantown.

Quick notes: Kansas City lands the recently DFA'd Pearson for a single-A reliever in Martin. Pearson had a 3.60 ERA and 16 strikeouts for Houston this season.
